This property is located in the village of La Rabita which is a traditional, unpretentious fishing village where the catch is still hauled on to the beach each morning. In summer it is a popular tourist resort with Spanish families, but there is no high-rise development. Excursions can easily be made to resorts such as Nerja and Almuñecar and the white villages of Las Alpujarras, the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, are within a twenty minute drive. Several beautiful unspoilt beaches are nearby, including Playa del Ruso, just one km from La Rabita and la Rejana, a twenty minute drive. Granada can easily be reached for a day visit as can the ski resorts of Sierra Nevada. Malaga Airport is about an hour and a half by car and Almeria Airport can be reached in less than an hour.
This apartment is situated on the second floor of an apartment block at the western end of the main beach at La Rabita. It is south facing with a stunning, uninterrupted view directly over the Mediterranean. The beach is literally a couple of metres in front of the block. All the amenities of the town (several small supermarkets, bars and restaurants) are within a two or three minute walk. One of the town´s best tapas bars, Que de Que is next door as is a children´s playground. However, it is a quiet spot and there is very little noise apart from the sound of the waves.
Spectacular village fiestas are held at Easter, San Juan on 23rd June when dozens of bonfires light up the night and at the beginning of September when the Virgin is carried from the church and sailed around the bay.
The apartment offers a balcony over-looking the beach. Both the living room and American kitchen also face the Mediterranean Sea. It is designed to sleep up to four people in two bedrooms, one is a double and the other has bigger than average bunk beds. The sofa in the living room also converts to a single bed to squeeze in an extra person. The bathroom has a bath, shower and washing machine.
A lift is normally available, but with two flights of stairs, the apartment may not be suitable for the disabled or possibly those with very small children. Free parking is available behind the block and is never a problem.
Horse-riding, cycling and walking can be arranged on request.
The property is connected to mains water & electricity & there would not be a problem installing Internet if wished.
This property is an ideal holiday home, but due to the proximity of all the village facilities, it could easily be an all year round perfect abode.
